Joining Us

Membership of NCCGB is by audition only; auditions take place in the autumn. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of our 2020 auditions will take place online.

Auditions will take place on the following dates:

Saturday 24th October 2020

Saturday 21st November 2020

Sunday 22nd November 2020

Saturday 28th November 2020

Sunday 29th November 2020

Saturday 5th December 2020

We accept new choir members from the age of 9; that is, boys and girls who would be at least 9 years old when they join their first Easter course. We expect choir members to attend every course, unless there is an unusual event, for example a family wedding.

New choir members must be available to attend the Easter course following audition.

Our auditions

For an audition, candidates will be asked to perform one song from memory, unaccompanied; the performance should take no more than 3 minutes.  They will also do some aural tests including musical memory tests and singing chords. Candidates in Year 7 and above will also be asked to do some sight singing.  The audition will take around 20 minutes.
